Digital SAT practice test
with a review that names what to fix
SAT-style practice for the current digital, adaptive format. After each test, the review pins every wrong answer to a specific concept and ranks what to work on first. The AI Tutor teaches it. Three free questions to start.
- Who it is for
- High school juniors and seniors, and ambitious sophomores
- When it happens
- Seven test dates a year in the US: March, May, June, August, October, November and December. Most students test in spring of junior year and again in the fall.

Concept:
Written in advance. Nothing is saved.
On a real test, the review would put these on your child's focus list, in this order, and the AI Tutor would teach each one:
- Needs work
All three right. On a real test the review would move on to harder material and show which concepts are already mastered, so no time is wasted re-practicing them.
What is on the test
The SAT at a glance
The facts a parent needs before choosing a prep plan. Details are as published by the test maker; always confirm dates and formats with the school your child is applying to.
- Format
- Digital, taken on a laptop or tablet with the Bluebook app. Two sections, each split into two modules; the second module adapts to how you did on the first.
- Length
- 2 hours 14 minutes: 64 minutes of Reading and Writing and 70 minutes of Math, with a short break between.
- Scoring
- 200–800 per section, 400–1600 total. No penalty for wrong answers.
- Calculator
- Allowed on every Math question, with a built-in graphing calculator in the app.
- Question style
- Short passages, one question each in Reading and Writing. Math is about three-quarters multiple choice and one-quarter typed answers.
| Section | What it tests | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Reading and Writing, module 1 | Vocabulary in context, main idea, evidence, grammar and transitions | 27 questions · 32 min |
| Reading and Writing, module 2 | Same skills; difficulty adapts to module 1 | 27 questions · 32 min |
| Math, module 1 | Algebra, advanced math, problem solving and data, geometry and trigonometry | 22 questions · 35 min |
| Math, module 2 | Same content; difficulty adapts to module 1 | 22 questions · 35 min |
Because the second module adapts, a strong first module unlocks the harder question set and the top score range.

How it works
Every wrong answer becomes a named concept, then a lesson
Most prep hands a student a score and a bigger pile of questions. This is the loop instead.
-
Step 1
Practice test
Full-length, short or mini versions of the SAT, timed by section, with an adaptive mode that finds the student's level fast.
-
Step 2
Test Review
Each miss is tied to a specific concept. The review ranks the concepts by how much they are costing and says what to do first.
-
Step 3
AI Tutor and Readiness Report
A short lesson on the concept, a fresh round of questions to prove it stuck, and a report you can read in a minute to see where your child stands.
Preparing for the SAT
Three things that move the score
Own the algebra
Linear equations, systems and functions are the largest slice of SAT Math. Fluency there raises the score faster than chasing rare geometry topics.
Read for the question, not the passage
Every Reading and Writing passage is short and asks one thing. Reading the question first tells you what to look for.
Learn the grammar rules that repeat
Subject-verb agreement, punctuation between clauses and transition words account for a large share of the writing questions and are quick to master.

SAT practice test FAQ
No. UnofficialPrep is not affiliated with the College Board. Our questions are original and match the content, difficulty and timing of the digital SAT. The official Bluebook practice tests are a good final rehearsal; use ours to find and fix weak concepts before then.
Our adaptive mode adjusts question difficulty as your child answers, so the experience is similar. The point of practice here is different from the real test: every answer feeds a focus list of concepts to work on.
Fewer than most families think, if each one is reviewed. Three or four full tests spaced over eight weeks, with concept work in between, beats ten tests taken back to back.
Most colleges accept either. Students who prefer more time per question and no science section often favor the SAT. Taking a short practice of each is the fastest way to decide.
The sample test is free and needs no account. Full practice tests and Test Reviews start at $10 a month, and plans with the AI Tutor start at $20 a month. Cancel anytime.
